7 Greenwich View Place

Screen Shot 2016-08-12 at 1.02.36 PMLocated on the private Greenwich View estate along side Millwall Dock is a high-tech  data centre designed by Richard Seifert & Partners in 1988. The building is part of an office development that now includes numerous data centers. Next door Bloomberg have occupied an almost identical building since 1994, the City Reach tower contains three data centers and a new facility called the Point is being constructed on the site.

Originally an office the building was converted into a data centre, run by Merrill Lynch in 2000 according to this planning application. In 2011 it became a co-location site run by EuroHub.

The building has many of the main traits of a data centre – it is fully clad in reflective glazing, cooling and power units are visible alongside it and has a secure loading bay. At the entrance a no-tailgating device is also visible (see below).
